These factors may often go beyond just the numerical GATE score and involve holistic evaluation of a candidate’s profile.
The key factors are shown below:-
i) Exceptional Academic Background :- The candidates having overall good performance in their undergraduate studies, have higher chances to catch the attention of the selection committee. This outstanding performance might overshadow a lower GATE score.
ii) Innovative Projects and Research :- Students who has worked on individual and innovative projects during Engineering, carried out research, published paper in their field of interest has higher chances of selection. Such achievement shows their ability to contribute towards the industrial landscape.
iii) Relevant Internships and Work Experience :- The internship and Work experience demonstrate the practical skills and industry knowledge that might set a candidate apart.

v) Notable Problem Solving abilities :- There are some students who loves to take challenges and have an immense mindset. Their ability to think creatively and solve complex problems makes them stand out.
Besides this, Passion and Enthusiasm, Exceptional Communication Skills, Diversity and Unique background, clear career goals and alignment are the factors which can help the candidates to get selected with low GATE score also.
Aspiring GATE candidates should draw inspiration from these tales, recognizing that while a strong GATE score opens doors, it’s the fusion of academic excellence, innovative projects, tenacious dedication, and a diverse skill set that propels individuals to the pinnacles of success.
The selection committees’ willingness to recognize and embrace this broader perspective exemplifies a forward-looking approach that not only enriches academic and professional ecosystems but also emphasizes the value of holistic excellence.
So , remember your entire Career is more important than GATE score, your potential is just limitless when it will be fueled by passion, dedication ,and the determination to transcend expectations.
