Operations
The government-owned corporation is primarily involved in the operations of aerospace and is currently involved in the design, fabrication, and assembly of aircraft, jet engines,
helicopters, and spare parts. It has several facilities spread across India including Nasik, Korwa, Kanpur, Koraput, Lucknow, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Kasaragod.
The HAL HF-24 Marut fighter-bomber was the first fighter aircraft made in India.
HAL Bangalore is one of the popular and established branches of the HAL company.
HAL manufactures indigenous products with technology transferred from the DRDO, in association with Bharat Electronics for its avionics and Indian Ordnance Factories for the onboard weapons systems and ammunition.

Job Opportunities in HAL
HAL had released notification for the post of Management Trainee/Design Trainee for its various Production, Overhaul and Service Divisions/Research and Design Centers/Officers at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kasaragod, Nasik, Koraput, Lucknow.
i) Management Trainees/Design Traines
HAL hires candidates through GATE. HAL is a Public Sector Enterprise(PSU).
A valid GATE score is required to seek recruitment in HAL company.
Eligible candidates shall have to appear for the GATE exam. Candidates are shortlisted based on the GATE scores and requirements of the respective department.
General/OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates must have received an average of a minimum of 65% marks.
SC/ST – minimum 55% marks
For shortlisting, the final year students must submit their final scorecard at the time of the interview.
Branches Eligible :-
i) Mechanical Engineering
ii) Civil Engineering
iii) Electrical Engineering
iv) Electronics Engineering
Age Limit
The upper limit for general category students is 28 years. Age relaxation is given to candidates of the other categories.
OBC :- 31 years
SC/ST candidates :- 33 years
PWD candidates :- 38 years
Application Fees
The fees for the exam is Rs. 500/-
Selection Process
The selection will be based on the candidates performance in GATE.
Based on their GATE scores, candidates will be shortlisted for further rounds .
The qualified candidates will be shortlisted based on valid GATE marks out of 100.
Personal interview (PI) will be utilized for further shortlisting of the candidates. The weightage for the PI round is 15%.
